An especially useful feature of SurePact is the ability to link records together. For example, when you create a project, you can link one or more grants that will fund the project.
Note: Record links are established by the record Manager.
Record linking can be done in Stage 1 of a record.
For a grant, the Grant Overview stage has options to link the grant to projects, contracts, or portfolios.
For a portfolio, the Initiation stage has options to link the portfolio to projects and grants.
For a project, the Initiation stage has options to link the project to grants.
And for a contract, the Initiation stage has options to link the contract to grants. (A contract is already linked to a project.)
Creating the link is a simple process that works in both directions.
In this contract example, linking a grant requires expanding the Link Grants to Contract table, finding the correct grant in the list, and clicking Link Grants.
Once linked, the linked grant appears in the table. While a link is selected, you can remove it by clicking the Delete Link button.
Double-clicking a link opens that record. So for the above example, double-clicking the linked grant opens the grant itself, where the linked contract is automatically listed.
